The introduction programme consists of both a tutor - and a buddy programme, as well as a Danish language crash course.
The introduction programme for the Spring Semester takes place from 26th to 31st January 2011.
The introduction programme for the Autumn Semester takes place from the 22nd to 31st August 2011.
Official arrival dates are 22nd and 23rd August.
Various activities are arranged in order to introduce exchange students to IBA, the programme, Danes and Danish culture, as well as the city. All exchange students are expected to participate as it is an important part of the stay in Denmark.
There will be both daytime and evening activities. The daytime activities are compulsory.
Tutor programme
The exchange students will meet the relevant staff, hear about the courses, exams, literature, how to study in Denmark, get access to IBA online and where to find relevant information.
Buddy programme
IBA has a buddy arrangement. This means that every exchange student will be assigned a buddy who will help him/her get through the first weeks. The buddy can pick you up at the airport or train station, help you with registration at the National Registry and advise you on other practical matters.
Before coming to IBA, the exchange student will get the name and contact details of the student. It is important that the exchange student gets in touch with the buddy and gives him/her information about arrival time, etc.
Danish language course
As part of the introduction programme, IBA offers exchange and international students a Danish language crash course. The purpose of the course is to learn some basic Danish language (survival Danish).
In addition, throughout the stay at IBA exchange and international students can sign up for an e-learning-based Danish language course (this is optional).
