The first Coventry University Bachelors in International Business have graduated at the IBA
I want to become a business woman
Jin Jing Yu is working hard to reach her goal of becoming a business woman. An important step on the way is her graduation as a Bachelor (Hons) in International Business at the IBA.
23-year-old Jin Jing Yu likes being busy and is looking forward to her future in business.
- I study marketing and globalization, because I want to become a business woman. I want to work for a company with marketing and human resources, she says.
Jin Jing Yu, who is from Shanghai in China, has finished her exams at the Coventry University BA programme delivered at the IBA. It went very well.
- I think I did a good job in my exams, but it was also a hard time. It helped a lot to study with five other girls in our apartment. We discussed what we should go over and helped each other. But we also had time for fun, she says with a big smile.
Denmark instead of Australia
Originally Jin Jing Yu considered going to Australia to study abroad. But when Jin Jing heard about Denmark through some friends, she was willing to choose something else.
- In Australia there are so many Chinese people already. I wanted to go to a place with not so many fellow countrymen. I feel good in Denmark - it has become my second home. It is very peaceful and quiet and I really like that, she says.
Jin Jing also likes the environment at the IBA.
- I am very satisfied with the teachers. They took responsibility for us. The classes gave me a lot of knowledge and experience.
The next two years Jin Jing is going to do her masters in Marketing, Globalization and Communications at University of Southern Denmark in Odense. Afterwards she is planning to move back to China to take care of her parents and make a business career in Shanghai.
Jin Jing Yu got her Coventry University BA degree at the IBA. She is one of the students from the first cohort.
Life here is pretty good
Jin Xin is satisfied with her life in Denmark. Her Coventry University BA degree from the IBA helps her complete her job in a Danish Company with connections to China.
When 22-year-old Jin Xin was younger she liked to read H. C. Andersen’s fairy tales. That was her way to get a first impression of Denmark.
- It sounded very nice. And I think it is a nice country. Only the winters are too cold, she says.
Recently Jin Xin, who is from Harbin in China, graduated as Bachelor in International Business from the IBA in Kolding. She is very happy about her exam and also about the school in general.
- When I first got here it surprised me that the school is so modern. I like the teachers and the other students, too. I was not very good at maths in the beginning, but the teachers helped me to understand it and I got a good grade in the end. That feels wonderful.
Interesting job
When Jin Xin finished her exams, there was not much time to relax. Right after she began her job as an marketing assistant in Steelcon A/S in Esbjerg.
- It is very interesting. My job is to look for customers in China. It is a very good experience for me and it is great to use what I have learned at the IBA, she says.
Jin Xin is living with a Danish couple in Esbjerg, where she feels very welcome.
- Life here is pretty good, but maybe in two or three years I want to go back to China to be with my family and get a job there.
