Check in Guide

Dear new student at the IBA,

Welcome to the IBA Business Academy Kolding. We hope that together we can create the very best conditions for a rewarding, exciting, and motivating student life here at the IBA.

A good student experience includes many aspects – such as quality teaching with dedicated lecturers in welcoming surroundings. There should also be plenty of challenges and learning opportunities. And it should all be practice-oriented.

A thriving study environment also includes a well-functioning social scene with active involvement from you students. You can look forward to many exciting activities through the Student Council (DSR) and the Congress.

With this small check-in guide, we aim to make the start of your studies a bit easier by answering some of the many questions you’re likely to have when starting in a new place. And remember: here at the IBA, there will always be a staff member ready to help you. So make use of us!

Library

The library is where you can get help and guidance in finding supplementary materials for your assignments.

It’s also where we assist you with referencing and provide support in using the reference management tool Zotero.

In addition to the books and journals available on site, we are happy to request materials from any Danish library, as long as it’s for academic use related to your studies.

During your programme, you’ll need access to a variety of data and information from different databases. You can find an overview of these databases on the library’s page at iba.dk or on Canvas. The library staff are, of course, available to guide you in how to search for data in each database.

You’re always welcome to stop by the library or book an appointment for guidance. Support can take place at the library or via Teams.

The library is always open for self-service during the IBA’s general opening hours. On Canvas, you can find details about when the librarian is available.

Cleaning

The IBA should be a pleasant place to study, which is why cleaning is carried out daily. Janitor

If first aid is needed, follow these steps:

  • Call out for help. Shout which floor you are on.
  • Call 1-1-2.
  • Provide your location and explain what has happened.
  • The defibrillator is located at the reception on the 1st floor. If you’re unsure about using the defibrillator, get assistance from a staff member.
