Augustinas: You develop much faster when you study abroad

Augustinas from Lithuania completes three years of studies at IBA with an impressive bachelor’s degree. Now, he will spend the summer working at the Trendhim webshop, and in September, he hopes to pursue a master’s degree in Aarhus.

– I have always known that I wanted to study in another country. My parents also encouraged me to do so because the opportunities in Lithuania are not as good as the ones I can find abroad,‟ says Augustinas Petrovskis and continues, „In my home country, Lithuania, it was said that Denmark had the highest level of education and that it was challenging to get admitted. But I managed to succeed.‟

So, when Augustinas turned 19, he moved to Denmark to pursue a professional academy education in Marketing Management. Afterward, he continued with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in International Business.

The latter program was a self-funded one, as he did not receive financial aid (SU). Nevertheless, he performed exceptionally well in his studies, receiving commendations during the graduation ceremony for achieving extraordinary high grades.

During his education, Augustinas got a job at the webshop Trendhim, which sells accessories for men, including items like jewelry, sunglasses, and bags. The company’s headquarters are located in Horsens.

He will continue working there over the summer while waiting for a response from Aarhus University, where he has applied for a master’s degree. He is not done with his professional and personal development yet:

„When you travel to another country, as I have done, you just develop much faster than your peers back home. Suddenly having to handle everything on your own leads to significant personal growth,‟ says Augustinas.

Therefore, he strongly recommends other young people to be open to new opportunities and study abroad in countries like Denmark.
