The MSc in Cyber Security is an international degree, offered in collaboration with Coventry University, UK, with on-campus tuition at the IBA, Kolding, in Denmark.

What will you learn?
The MSc in Cyber Security course provides a deep and practical understanding of how to secure digital systems and respond to increasingly complex cyber threats in a global context.

The course offers an opportunity for students and professionals – even without prior specialisation in cyber security – to critically engage with and apply key concepts and methodologies that are central to the industry. Cyber security knowledge and skills are increasingly vital across a wide range of professions – from IT specialists and engineers to digital transformation leaders and project managers. This programme also prepares you to assess challenges from legal, ethical, and professional standpoints, helping you navigate real-world situations responsibly.
More broadly, the course will appeal to those aiming to build international careers in tech or cyber defence, those managing cross-border digital infrastructures, or those seeking professional upskilling to meet the demands of a digitally driven world.
Structure of the course
The course is developed, delivered and assessed by the IBA and is awarded, and quality assured by Coventry University. The course leads to a Coventry University degree award.
It is a 14 month full-time master’s course, consisting of compulsory subjects and a final dissertation.
The course includes two study trips to Coventry University, UK.

Application and Admission
Admission requirements
All applicant must possess at least one of the following points and English language proficiency.
- A minimum of a second class honours degree in a relevant subject such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering etc. To find out if your non-Danish entry qualifications fulfil the minimum entry requirements for the course, you can visit our International Qualifications webpage >>
- A relevant professional qualification of an equivalent level.
- A lower qualification plus appropriate and relevant experience at a professional level.
- Satisfactory independent evidence of working for several years in a position that would normally be occupied by an honours graduate, in a relevant area (such as the IT sector), which would lead to gaining benefit from the course.
- English language proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or higher.
- All applicants must ensure that they are eligible for a UK tourist visa for the mandatory study trips to the UK

Students whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in the English language equivalent to IELTS 6.5. Alternatively students may be admitted with IELTS 6.0 if they attend and pass a compulsory five week pre-sessional English course, operated by Coventry University, before joining their master’s programme.
Applications from those not possessing the equivalent of an honours degree in computer related subject will be considered on individual merit and decisions will be based on careful evaluation of the capacity of the applicant to complete the programme successfully.
The programme is subject to the general University admission procedures and access policies. A wide range of academic backgrounds is deemed suitable for entry to the programme. However, careful evaluation of applications to ensure that all applicants are suited to the programme takes place. All applicants that have a suitable admission background will be invited to a mandatory admission interview.
Accreditation for prior learning (RPL) is in accordance with University regulations. The accreditation for Prior Experiential learning (APEL) will only be awarded for achievements equivalent to masters’ level.

Financial matters
Tuition fee
All applicants regardless of their citizenship must pay tuition fee for the course.
Tuition fee for the MSc course is:
- The tuition fee is EUR 22.000,- / DDK 164.000,- for the full course
- You can pay it in 2 instalments. If you choose two instalments, you will pay 100,000 DKK for the first instalment, and 64,000 DKK for the second instalment, for a total of 164,000 DKK.
- You can also pay it in 3 instalments. If you choose three instalments, you will pay 75.000 DKK for the first instalment, the second instalment is also 75,000 DKK, and the final instalment will be 14,000 DKK. Your total tuition fee will be 164,000 DKK. (the three-installment option is only available to EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and non-EU/EEA/Swiss legal residents in Denmark at the moment of application).
The fee includes all teaching and exams, room and board for the study trips to UK, learning support and administrative costs. The tuition fee does not include the cost of a visas, books, accommodation, food, international travels, or local transportation. MSc students admitted to the study course must purchase all required books before or upon arrival at the IBA.

Scholarships
We do not offer scholarships for this course.

Residence permit as a student and EU Residence

Daily life on the MSc in Cyber Security at the IBA in Kolding
Your daily life at the IBA will primarily consist of attending lectures, working in our new state of the art cyber lab, doing group work, and solving real-life business cases. During the course, you will also have the opportunity to bond with your fellow students through Friday bars and other social events.
