The sun is shining over Kolding these days, and the beautiful Danish spring provides the perfect setting for this year’s NIBS conference, hosted by the IBA.

NIBS stands for the Network of International Business Schools, and representatives from 30 countries are visiting the IBA this week.

The conference focuses on how international collaboration can help develop education, research and scholarship for the benefit of students and staff at the many institutions that are members of the NIBS network.

As this year’s conference is being held in Denmark, Hans van Oudheusden, President of NIBS, compares international collaboration to the strong building power of LEGO bricks.

“Collaboration helps provide strength and relevance in a world that is increasingly complex and uncertain. Like LEGO bricks, we build something together that is stronger and more robust.”

“The IBA has been a longstanding member of NIBS, and we are delighted that it has organised this conference, where people from all over the world have the opportunity to talk and come together around education. Communication is incredibly important these days, and through the NIBS conference, the IBA has given us this valuable opportunity,” says Johannes Van Oudheusden from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.

“This is my first NIBS conference, and it has been a fantastic experience. I have made many new connections with people from around the world — people I can collaborate with on projects at the university. It has also been exciting to learn about different education systems and teaching methods in other countries, which I can take back to my own university. I would encourage everyone to attend the NIBS conference to learn new things and share their own experiences with people at the conference,” says Juliana Gyasi from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.

“Your participation reflects a shared commitment to developing business education that meets the demands of an ever-evolving global environment. At a time marked by geopolitical challenges, collaboration across institutions and borders is more important than ever,” was the message from Carsten Vikkelsøe, Rector of the IBA, to the many attendees at the NIBS conference at the IBA in Kolding.
